$1,000.00 buys 0.01665000 coins after a $1.00 fee. Sold at $66,000.00, they are worth $1,098.90, and after the $1.10 selling fee you receive $1,097.80 — a profit of $97.80. Fees mean the price has to rise to $60,120.18 just to get your money back.

Most profit calculators ignore fees, which makes every trade look better than it was. This one charges them on both sides, the way spot exchanges actually bill, so the number you see is the number that lands in your account.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate crypto profit?
Work out how many coins you received (amount invested minus the buy fee, divided by the buy price), multiply by the sell price, subtract the sell fee, then subtract what you originally put in. $1,000 into Bitcoin at $60,000 with 0.1% fees, sold at $66,000, returns about $1,097.80 — a $97.80 profit, not the $100 the price move alone suggests.
What is a break-even price in crypto?
The sell price at which you get exactly your money back after paying fees on both sides. It always sits above your buy price: at 0.1% per side it is about 0.2% higher, at 0.6% per side about 1.2% higher. Selling at your buy price is a small loss, not zero.
Do exchange fees really matter?
On a single trade they look small. On frequent trading they compound: at 0.5% per side, every round trip costs about 1% — ten round trips a month is roughly 10% of your capital paid in fees before any profit or loss.
Does this calculator include tax?
No. Crypto gains are taxed in most countries, and the rules differ widely. Treat the profit shown as before-tax, and check your local rules or a tax professional.

These calculators are educational and are not financial advice. They describe arithmetic, not outcomes — no position size makes a losing strategy profitable. Trading carries risk, including loss of capital.
